Thanksgiving Break is finally here! Well, at least for your Wednesday classes. I have done my best to post everything that will be expected over the next two weeks. It may look like a lot but it should not take near as long as you are thinking it will.
This week, we are starting in on imaginary and complex numbers. I am including some videos to help you with this adventure. However, I have no doubt that if you watch the lessons (and even some of these videos), check out your notes, and ask for help where you need it, you will be just fine.

Thank you to everyone for your patience and grace this past week.
Today, everyone received back your quizzes. Over the next week, you will have time to correct them according to the "test corrections" policy that is found here in your drop down menu or on Jupiter Ed. If you have work that is late or incomplete and you are realizing you need to get it together in order to get the grade you want/need:

So you have this exponent business down pat. Time to move into what might be a review on advanced distributing both forward and in reverse.
I have put two different methods here and will let you choose which one is the best for the way your brain learns. If you feel like you need additional guidance, I am putting a link below. This week you are continuing with a couple of TT Lessons as well as the end of the chapter review/test (I count it as homework). You will also complete and online Adventure interactive and submit it to me.
As always, please let me know if I can help you understand anything better. |
Extra Credit: Send me an email before Friday and explain this comic to me.

Repeat after me, "Exponents are cool!"
Hopefully, the activities from today will help all of you get a concrete grasp on exponents and how to work with them. I am attaching the help sheet here but it should also be in your thumb drive. If it isn't then put it there! This week you will be:

This week we introduced ourselves and discussed how classtime would look. We also talked about how Algebra 2 is simply about solving algebra problems that are a bit more involved and complicated than those you tackled in algebra and even geometry class. You worked on an Adventure Activity to help remind you of the order of operations in math equations; hopefully it wasn't too challenging! Next week, I hope to have a thumb drive for you that will have all (or at least most) of your notes and worksheets on it for you to print yourself. |
RLA for this week is algebra is you will use some sort of algebraic equation in everyday life such as how much pasta will each person receive if need to evenly divide 16 ounces of pasta between your 4 family members.

This week, we reviewed last weeks problems and continued working with order of operations and distributions. Nothing quite as freeing as doing math on windows right?
SInce you guys seem to have this down, we agreed to just move ahead a bit. THis also means your thumb drive may need a little rearranging; I left notes for you in the assignments. So, this week, you are going to:
You also got your thumb drive this week. Be sure to keep track of it as I will continue to add to it as the semester continues. There will also be an extra credit coupon found there. If you lose your thumb drive, you can purchase another, but you will not receive your extra credit coupon. If you look at your Jupiter Ed assignments, you will see that there is a worksheet that can take the place of one of your Teaching Textbook lessons from this week. Please feel free to take advantage of that! |
